QueerMinded is your hub for LGBTQ news and talk from around the country and around the world. Hosts Orie Givens and SaRea Surmon bring you great interviews, informative stories and lively discussion with guests from all parts of the queer spectrum.

Show host, Orie Givens IV is a buckeye-born, New York City educated journalist and communications professional. He received his Master of Arts degree focusing in Broadcast News and Urban Reporting from the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism, and has reported on-air, in print and online for a variety of mainstream and LGBT-focused outlets in the US and Canada. Orie enjoys finding and reporting the stories of people from all walks of life, and when he’s not news binging, he’s probably out on a patio or a dance floor…or stuck in a marathon of a very engaging telenovela. Tweet him  @oracle83.

Show host, SaRea Surmon, is an avid world traveler, lover of arts, culture, music and all things queer. She joins QueerMinded as a novice to radio, but isn’t afraid to speak out and ask the tough questions. The Columbus, Ohio native graduated from Kent State University in 2006 with a BA in Spanish and International Relations, and works at a major corporation as a project manager. She is hoping to explore topics such as femme invisibility, marriage equality, women’s rights and the intersection of being black and queer. Tweet her @la_sarea
